Rappa continues to elevate his brand as a producer with the release of the second installment of his compilation mixtape series.
In doing so, the Watts-bred producer delivers his album Trappin In Tha Winter 2 (TTW2) which updates the OG project that dropped back in 2020 with over double the tracks via the nine-song offering.
TTW2 combines Rappa’s distinct West Coast flavor and new wave rap, and includes guest appearances from artists such as NHale, AD, Santeezy818, NWG Suave, Duke Bin Laden and more.
The LP itself represents the intense 2022 campaign, which saw Rappa and his hybrid West Coast flare across multiple states such as New York, where he linked up with Mac Mois, and Miami where he locked in with Santeezy818.
During a recent conversation with RosecransAve, Rappa spoke about crafting TTW2, revealing the recording process took place during an increasingly nomadic two-year period in his life.
“The process was simple I just linked up with the artist, vibed out , and just make dope records,” Rappa said in part about the creative process.
“I went from recording Outta Town in New York, to recording in Burbank with NWG Suave. Some of these records were recorded almost 2 years ago but were sitting collecting dust in the vault so I decided to bring them out.”
Considering TTW2 is Rappa’s first project in over a year, the LP represents more than just a fresh drop, which he went on to explain further.
“This LP means a lot to me due to the fact that I haven’t dropped a project in the past year only singles, been focusing on djing right now,” Rappa said. “I’m trying to balance out producing and djing so that’s another reason why I decided to drop the project to let people know I’m still in the music game and came strong with features.”
