Four generations of West Coast hip-hop on one track is a rare occurrence, however Glasses Malone was able to put it together. “6 N’ The Mornin’ (GMX)” is a modern day twist on Ice-T’s iconic original version which released back in 1986. 35 years later and the GMX is produced by none other than Ty Dolla $ign, who is also on the hook. It was only right it featured a verse from Ice-T, and we were blessed with a 16 from another West Coast legend, Snoop Dogg.
This song comes two years after the creative single “2pac Must Die” where he raps from the point of view of Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, a Compton Crip member that many believe killed Tupac Shakur.
Glasses Malone’s creativity is a strength, and he expresses that on “6 N’ The Mornin’ (GMX)”, which is his first single in two years. It’s the perfect west coast anthem, a track that both old heads and the new generation can appreciate together.
“6 N’ The Mornin’ (GMX)” is out now on all streaming platforms.
