When Blxst releases music, it’s an easy decision to tap in and listen. The Los Angeles native has returned with a new single, “Slip & Slide” featuring 1TakeJay, as well as a new video to go along with the summer smash. The track is the assumed lead single for the long anticipated Blxst debut studio album. Over the past two years, Blxst has really emerged as a staple in the LA hip-hop scene. Especially when it comes to the summer time in California, Blxst had last year on lock, and now he looks to repeat his efforts for 2020.
“Slip & Slide” is produced and mixed by Blxst himself. This is just another example that Blxst is just as talented as a beat maker as he his a recording artist. He even posted a video of him cooking up on Instagram with the caption, “i use to wanna be Pharrell, now I’m making my own lane…” The track features a verse from Compton’s 1TakeJay. The rapper makes a Deontay Wilder reference, as well as a GTA bar, to highlight a solid verse that meshes with the theme of the track perfectly.
The music video goes along with the “Slip & Slide” theme. The video was shot by CreatedbyBlu, who helped create MBNel’s “Heroic” that features Blxst, as well as “Selfish” and “Savage” both songs that were on Blxst & Bino Rideaux’s Sixtape EP.
This track is the perfect summer anthem. With a catchy hook to go along with a quality verse from 1TakeJay, expect this track to be played all summer long. This music will go beyond the California boarder, and the people should be excited for the new Blxst album. “Slip & Slide” is out now on all streaming platforms.
