Stockton rapper MBNel has had a busy 2020 so far, and that might be an understatement. He recently released the single titled, “Heroic” featuring Blxst on Friday. There is also a music video that was released to go along with the fresh track. This is the first single from his 6-track, Child of The Trenches EP; set to release July 17th via Muddy Boyz/EMPIRE. This is the MC’s 4th single of the year so far (“Game Time” featuring Rucci, “Gang Signs”, and “Up Next” are the previous three). He also released a joint project with Long Beach native, $tupid Young. The two linked up to bring us Yellow Tape 2, a 12-track project that featured Teejay3k and Compton Tg.
“Heroic” is co-produced by Mike Crook & Keanu Beats, and the two cooked up an instrumental that features a melodic guitar sample. Blxst, the featured artist on the track, has been on fire all year long. His features with Joey Fatts, Mozzy, and Bino Rideaux have produced hits for the state of California. On his latest single, MBNel touches on his previous gang life, his struggles with poverty, and also striving to give his children a better life.
MBNel’s honest lyrics and catchy hook, along with a Blxst verse makes this an easy playlist add. This single should bring anticipation for Mbnel’s Child of The Trenches EP when it drops July 17th. “Heroic” is out now on all streaming platforms, and the music video is out on YouTube.
