With businesses beginning to open back up, people are starting to get back to some of their normal routines, one of which is driving. Since shops, restaurants and more are opening shop, people are leaving their homes and driving on a daily basis for the first time in months. Naturally, as a music head, the first thing I thought about was needing some new shit to bump in the car. Well, look no further than D.C. rapper, Dre Wave$, who’s brand new project, Duality is the perfect soundtrack for a goodnight, start to finish.

At 8-tracks and 20-minutes, Duality is at just around the perfect length for consumption these days. While some artists opt for longer or shorter time lengths for various reasons, I firmly believe 7-10 tracks is the perfect way to showcase an artist. Calling on a handful of producers including Stoic Beats, Cardboard Box, Bobby Cento and more, Dre leads a well rounded team of creatives in creating a full project, showcasing his deep, baritone voice in the absolute perfect fashion.

Some standouts from the project include, “Rhythm & Blues,” and, “Pain & Passion,” which both prominently features Dre and Ty Thom go completely crazy, highlighting an obvious chemistry that should be further explored. Similarly on, “Back & Forth,” he and AA(DOUBLE A) display an impressive chemistry over the boom-bap production, where we see Dre get into more of his lyrical bag. Standing tall, though, is the project’s lead single, “Drinking & Smoking.” Produced by Stoic Beats, the song features nobody and gives us an opportunity to see Dre by himself, which is where he shines brightest.

Check out the project below and get familiar with D.C.’s new export.
