One of the beautiful things about how fast our genre is progressing is that we’re able to start seeing our favorite 2000’s songs being sampled. Whereas some of our predecessors may have had trouble getting samples approved from stars of the 80s and 90s, we’ve seen plenty of examples of 2000s artists being more lenient with their music, most notably with Tory Lanez’ Chixtape 5 album. Taking advantage of this notion, Las Vegas rapper Jayy samples popular Lil Jon banger, “Get Low,” for his engaging new single, “369.”
Shot by The Shade Films, “369,” is a fun, festive video that finds Jayy and producer, AngelTFC in a barber shop with a pack of fine dancers known in Las Vegas as The Ladies Room. Instead of getting haircuts, the duo smoothly enjoys the company of these ladies as they perform a routine around them. As for the record, taking full advantage of the Lil Jon sample, Jayy absolutely rips this one to shreds. Showcasing exactly why some people think he’s the coolest MC in Vegas, he equally exudes as much charisma on screen as he does on the track, making for a dynamite combination.
