Despite what many believe, there is without a doubt a scene throughout the Inland Empire section of Southern California. Los Angeles might not want to admit it, but Hit-Boy, one of the biggest producers in the last decade plus, belongs to Fontana, not L.A. Furthermore, the area has produced other well known risers such as Trizz, Noa James and of course, Audio Push. Looking to help bolster his region, San Bernardino rapper Cam Gnarly enlists Waju for their anthemic new single, “$hine.”
Produced by popular So Cal beat-maker, Audio King, “$hine,” is a fun, energetic record that finds Gnarly and Waju going back-to-back, bridged together by an infectiously impressive chorus. Utilizing a dark, commanding vocal tone, Gnarly also showcases an impressive pen, stringing together lines one after another. Playing clean up duty, Waju provides a wonderfully placed verse that helps set the tone for what’s coming next, which is anybody guess.
Check out the single below and be sure to get familiar with Cam Gnarly, who’s rumored to be dropping again sooner, rather than later.
