On this Friday the 13th, GoGetta KB and Chris O’Bannon reverse the curse of bad vibes with the release of their long awaited “PNP Vibes” album. The title, “PNP Vibes” alludes to the influences of “P*ssy & Patron” which heavily inspired the sounds of the album.
The album begins with “Pride,” the more soft spoken track exploring the feelings of a woman who has recently undergone emotional damages. The introduction sees GoGetta KB and Chris O’Bannon offering their affection, to help upgrade the lifestyle of said woman. As the album progresses, the versatility is displayed through strip club anthems like Drip Drip and Go Craze, to motivational records like Hussle. MCM Raymond appears as the only feature thorughout this album with his standout verse on Already Know. GoGetta KB and Chris O’Bannon conclude the album with STFU, the track aptly filled with arrogant displays of confidence.
Within six months, the duration of time taken to complete the album, GoGetta KB and Chris O’Bannon developed a chemistry worthy of comparison to that of fellow Los Angeles stars Lebron James and Anthony Davis. Both artists offer their player perspectives throughout the album and bounce off of each others flows to deliver a body of work truly reminiscent of modern West Coast hip-hop. GoGetta KB’s dynamic wordplay is balanced by Chris O’Bannon’s smooth melodies. Both artists take turns spitting bars and interchanging hooks. “PNP Vibes” displays an immense amount of musical range from two independent Los Angeles artists.
