Doeman shares visuals to “Screwed Up”

Earlier this week, Doeman, the rapidly rising Mexican-American rapper from Houston blessed fans with new visuals for “Screwed Up,” the lead single to his forthcoming EP, “MVNTRA”. With production from Trakksounds, a fellow H-Town native, “Screwed Up” finds the Houston pair paying homage to the various sections of the city. During the video, Doeman puts Houston’s unique and exhilarating culture on display for us. From the double cups to the Cadi’s sittin’ on vogues, it’s clear Doeman is a Houston homegrown. While the city’s influence is evident in the music , Doeman also perfectly counter balances this traditional sound with his refreshing new perspective as a younger artist. The UGK shout-out and the switch to a chopped and screwed melody to close the last four bars celebrate Houston’s sonic contributions.

Doeman is not your typical trill rapper. “Screwed Up” offers a small insight into Doeman’s musical versatility. His ability to draw influences from the different cultures he represents further elevates his sound and growth as a hip hop artist. Watch the video to “Screwed Up” below and keep your ear out for new music from the Houston hitmaker.
