Jacques Cartiae, is a 22 year old artist from Los Angeles, CA who is embarking on a path to become one of the greats. He’s influenced by some of the biggest names in music such as Drake, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, Future, Lil Baby and contemporaries such as Eli Sostre. Although he’s born and bread on the west coast and is of hispanic descent, his sound strays far from that of your typical hispanic west-coast artist. A self taught producer, audio engineer and self-made entrepreneur, he has all the makings of a super-star.
As he begins his ascension in music, he first chooses to pay homage to the ones who came before him with his new track, produced by LA hitmaker Matt Bricks. Jacques’ “Homage” reminds me of my bimmer. Let me explain, like BMW’s their style never strays too far from their distinct roots, in this case you can hear the obvious west-coast bounce and Too Short “Blow The Whistle” interpolation. It’s luxurious, this sounds like it’s ready for a Tyga verse where he raps about feeling like Gucci with the ice cream, and his girl wanting the Fenty, not the Maybelline.
