Airplane James Releases Much Anticipated “Eastside Special” EP

Diamond Lane Music Group artist Airplane James finally released his highly anticipated “Eastside Special” EP. The eastside South Central LA native has been building an extremely strong buzz leading up to this release. Recently, he performed at Rosecrans Ave Live, Don’t Come To LA at SXSW, had his hit single “FWU” premiered on Hypebeast, then the video was hosted on No Jumper’s YouTube channel. An eventful month to say the least, which is capped off by the release of this five song EP, filled with fire.

The intro track “Go Up” is Plane spewing jet fuel infused bars as he glides over the beat with the confidence of a fighter pilot at an air show. It’s a solid introduction to the project that is about to take you on a short, eventful trip. It’s followed up by the piercing “OMM” featuring Compton’s AD, short for “on my momma” a term used frequently in LA, when making a proclamation, it’s kind of like “swear to god” but less blasphemous and more hip, but I digress. The song is an absolute banger. “FWU” is the standout single on this project, the Tony! Toni! Tone! sample flip by SoundsLikeTC and Saltreze, is absolutely marvelous and the hook, bridge and everything in between makes this track an instant favorite by any one with at least one ear. A song off Airplane’s previous project “Fact Check” got a revitalizing remix by adding fellow South Central hero Jay 305 to the already fire track. The projects ends with “05: Accidents” that has ‘Plane at his most aggressive, staking his claim that he isn’t in the position he’s in by accident. He also does a bit of story telling, letting you know what occurrences helped shape who he is today.
