I’m starting to see a trend, here. No, actually, I think I’m starting to see the origin story of a potential legendary duo. Of course, I’m talking about North Las Vegas natives Wave MMLZ and G. Reed, who, after their impressive EP earlier this year, drop a brand new single, “Whiplash”.
Produced by Wave, the production on, “Whiplash” is pristine to say the least. Relying on stark bass kicks, evil wind chimes and some distorted synths, Wave completely set up the track for him and Reed to spazz out, and that they did.
Wave kicks off the track with a tranquil first verse, right before he kicks in the door with a ridiculously catchy chorus and another infectious verse. As he does, Reed then slides in at the end with an aggressively charged feature in which he elevates and absolutely destroys whatever of the beat was left from Wave.
