Indiana native Didda Joe has crafted a phenomenal body of work titled ‘1993‘. The EP is seven tracks filled with passion, fun and lust. Men, you can play this in front of your woman and thank Didda for what will likely follow, and women play this whenever you get all up in them feelings about the men who played music like this for a week ago and has hit you with read receipts ever since.
Didda Joe is a name you need to get familiar with now if you aren’t already. The nap-town artist has built a very strong buzz in anticipation of the project and his lead single “Smokin & Stressin” is already getting spins at SiriusXM’s The Heat, and the EP was premiered by Hiphopdx. You can clearly hear the Prince influences on the title track, as well as nods to 90’s R&B throughout the project. Still, any of the seven records can be placed in a playlist with current R&B upstarts like Bryson Tiller, PARTYNEXTDOOR and hold its own.
