It is with much sadness that I report Phife Dawg From A Tribe Called Quest has passed away. The hip-hop legend was only 45 years old. Details on the cause and time of his death are still scarce, but many in the hip-hop community close to Phife have confirmed his passing. Producer Statik Selektah took to his Twitter page to express his feelings about losing the New York emcee and wrote, “Confirmed. rest in peace Phife. Man. I’m out”. Mac Miller, 9th Wonder, Chase N. Cashe, and countless others have shared their sympathy as well. Phife reportedly suffered from Diabetes, but it is unclear if that was a factor in his untimely passing.
