Rosecrans Avenue Recap: Future & DJ Rhettmatic

Rosecrans Avenue Recap: Future & DJ Rhettmatic

I attend at least one concert a month, a goal I started in January 2015 with my little sister. This month, so far, I did a back-to-back concert weekend with Future‘s Purple Reign Tour and DJ Rhettmatic‘s Wedding Mixer 3. Check it out!
Also–apologies for the photo quality. #AndroidProblems haha.

Let’s start with Future, who let purple reign over green on this year’s St. Patty’s Day. The concert took place at Santa Ana’s well-known Observatory, and doors opened at 11pm, but his first official opener, RJ, got on stage at 12:45am.
On My Momma, RJ was ON. Many were upset that Ty Dolla $ign wasn’t the opener, but with RJ’s energy, we were all pumped up and ready to get rich on ya.

Finally around 2am and my phone basically dead, we turned off the lights, as Future hit the stage after almost canceling the entire show since he was performing in Arizona and Cali in the SAME DAMN DAY. It was WELL worth it, as he performed classics as well as new tracks from EVOL. It was a cracking show to say the very least, even though it ended around 3am and this girl had an exam at 8am.

Onto the very next day at LA’s Echoplex, where (world famous!) Beat Junkies’ DJ Rhettmatic alongside Virginia’s legendary Mad Skillz provided the grooves at #TheWeddingMixer3. What started as a mix for his friend’s wedding is now a yearly event where they bring out new jack swing classics and funk for the grown and sexy (I was the youngest person there!). Jokes aside, it was a great show and people were dancing the ENTIRE time, including myself and friends.

This week, I’m hitting the DJ Quik and Suga Free show at The Nokia Theatre. I’ll see you next week!
