After a week long tease to its official release, Mat Randol ‘s debut EP, “Alignment” has arrived. The introduction project includes features from rappers Grape God, past collaborator Maze Koroma, Maxiem, and many more. Mat’s lyrics are laced with production from Heaven in Stereo, Dalure, King Tut, Neil Von Tally, Cozy Boy Beatz, and spoken alongside Elizabeth Randol – Mat’s grandmother. Throughout the EP, listeners are taken on the path of alignment, that is surely relatable to many – battling life, pressing through a complex relationship, embracing young parenthood, and discovering your purpose. Those who were treated to an early listen of “Alignment” at its Portland listening session have confidently compared the vibe and delivery to that of a young-Illmatic, Nasir Jones.
