Artists that aren’t afraid to explore new sounds are truly the best, and one of those is LA’s Gavlyn. While she still remains underground, her sound is different from the backpack rapper sound, without losing her lyrical skills. “Black Cherry Koolaid” is a new sound for the soundstress, over a Soulection-esque beat. The visuals are quite simple, but sometimes simple is better. This song and video remind us that here in Cali, summer is all year long. Her forthcoming album, “Make Up for Your Break Up” drops this November, and hopefully, it sounds more like this.
