As the craziness of Comic-Con from last weekend winds down, and as the Marvel machine starts up its gears again as Ant-Man comes out this weekend, it was revealed that about 50 Marvel comic book covers coming out this October will pay homage to current and classic hip-hop albums. This interests me specifically being a big comic book fan and a lover of hip-hop music. So without further ado, here are the couple of covers they released, along with the inspiration for them.
Dr. Strange covers Dr. Dre’s The Chronic.
Ant-Man covers The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die
Iron Man covers 50 Cent’s Get Rich Or Die Trying
Captain America covers A$AP Rocky’s Long.Live.A$AP
Spider-Man and Deadpool cover Eric B. and Rakim’s Paid In Full
Spider-Man covers A Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders
Howard the Duck covers Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return to the 36 Chambers
Squirrel Girl covers Tyler, the Creator’s Wolf
The X-Men cover De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising
