LA newcomer Aime Janelle has dropped a new six track EP titled Positivity. I first discovered her on Big $wift’s 2014 record “Fein For You” as she wrote and sang a flawless hook for the 562 rapper. And now the young songstress is flexing all skills on this project whether it’s rapping, singing, or songwriting Aime is astounding, and the rawness of it all feels like this is just the tip of the iceberg. You can really feel the emotion in every track. This very much feels like a young lady’s audio diary, except with kick ass bass, snares, chords and hooks. Janelle’s voice is so smooth and easy on the ears, I wish she would replace Siri’s annoying ass voice in my phone.
Standout records include the sweet and sultry “Impatient” (my favorite), the introspective “She Changed“, the booming banger “Paradise“, and the uplifting “It Will All Be Ok“.
I really believe Aime could have the makings of a star one day and I am excited to watch her progress. Listen below and watch her rise.
